90/10 Detox Challenge

Mainly Raw, Some Steamed, Completely Delicious

May 6, 2010:

OK, so today makes day six of my 90/10 challenge, and I must admit that I haven't followed the namesake ratio everyday to perfection. I am actually eating more like sixty percent raw and forty percent steamed or cooked food, but I have definitely increased the amount of raw fruits and vegetables I consume; I have also made green and other smoothies a mainstay in my daily regimen again. I like to add flax meal, chia seeds, maca powder, raw cacao powder, and wheatgrass to my smoothies for an extra boost of energy, vitamins and nutrients. I also usually use a light coconut milk in my smoothies for added energy, taste, and nutrition. I now consume between 80 and 120 ounces of water a day and like to add a half of a lemons' juice to the first eight ounces of the day.

This challenge is a step toward the consumption of more raw and living foods; the process will continue far beyond the 21 days, as I work to cleanse and strengthen my body and consciousness toward unity consciousness (see Seven States of Consciousness). For those of you who have decided to take the challenge along with me, please add a comment and share your experiences for the week. Also let me know whether the videos and site links provided have been helpful.

Join me in a 21-day detox experiment where I'll eat 90% organic raw, and 10% organic steamed, foods. I will document my 21-day journey and post recipes, triumphs, and setbacks along the way.

The experiment will commence on May 1 and end on May 21, 2010. There are so many resources available on-line regarding vegan, raw vegan, and whole food diet options; I will add links below on a daily basis to keep you informed of my favorite resources as well as some new sites I have found and plan to explore:
